Taken with my iPhone 7 in July ’17. The bay was in the 50 degree range on one side and over 80 on the other. The result is the amazing fog created by the collision of temperate and humidity change.
Spent a few hours at sunset New Year’s Day at Liberty State Park. The night was perfect for this type of shot – low humidity and a clear sky. Happy New Year! Canon 5DMKIII, EF24-70 f2.8 at f / 8.0 @ 32mm
Recently I spent some time with David Ferguson (my father-in-law) shooting NYC from the Brooklyn Bridge Park. David is an avid and talented outdoor photographer and had this shot on his bucket list so I tagged along and took a few images of my own. It’s amazing to me that Brooklyn has such a spectacular park and with such an incredible view of NYC. This…
One of my favorite experiences on Martha’s Vineyard is always a visit to the lighthouses of the island. There is something magical and powerful about a lighthouse and their enduring strength that resists everything that Mother Nature throws at it in order to guide sailors safely home. These are two of my favorites. The lighthouse at Gay Head is in danger…
A recent trip to Beijing resulted in a few hours to walk around the Forbidden City. The smog was almost unbearable – I didn’t recover for weeks after returning to the US. But, I did manage to capture a handful of images that I liked. This one of the fortress wall around the Forbidden City is interesting. I used Photoshop and Lightroom to…
While in Tuscany this summer we spent a few hours walking around Siena . A spectacular Tuscan hill town, Siena is a wonderful walk through the middle ages. These ancient iron rings are throughout Siena. Used to secure your horse (or other animal) while you did business in town, they are so well used that indents from the ring striking the wall can be…
Sometimes the street is a wonderful place. While walking the grounds of the Louvre I encountered this special soul.
Taken from the harbor on my iPhone while on a sailing trip around the island. The power and size of the storm is obvious when you compare the size of the un-landed tornado in the top right third of the image with the Edgartown Lighthouse below and to the left of it (its the little white speck).
Statue of Neptune on the fountain on Piazza della Signoria in Florence, Italy. This was taken about midnight in the Piazza. It was one of those nights when everything seemed perfect – location, light, temperature and the energy in the Piazza.
